Jodi Sanderholm 1987-2007

If you haven't heard Jodi's tragic story click on this link to read about it.

I was asked by a Cowley County resident Matt Mayo to write a song that might lift up Jodi and help the family and friends she left behind. Of course in turn I asked my dad to help me.

Matt gave the family the music in hopes that it might help and they played the song at a memorial service in Jodi's honor.

The response has been amazing. I never had the chance to meet Jodi or her family. But after watching the service over the internet I feel moved to take the opportunity in this space to ask all who are reading these words.

If you died today do you know where you would spend eternity? Jodi knew, but if you're not sure take the time to go to this page and learn more about how God wants to have a relationship with you right now.

It's so hard to find something positive out of this situation. But someday in heaven wouldn't we all rejoice with Jodi if someone came to know Jesus as their personal Savior from of this terrible tragedy.

I attended the funeral of Jodi Sanderholm(who my daughter adored) and was listening to a song that was playing at the funeral and it wasn't until I was showing my sister the video that I caught that the song was written for her. I had thought that is what I heard after the song was over but my little boy was fussing so I wasn't quite sure. I just wanted to let you know that I thought that was really great of you and the song was PERFECT and I still have it playing in my head today. I really didn't know much about you until I found the web site and I will continue to support you and probably end up becoming a HUGE fan. I love small town people and I love it even more when those small town people don't forget where they came from. Good job on the song, it fit her and the situation perfect.

Dave,
I want to start by saying thank you! The song you wrote for my friend Jodi was absolutely amazing. Jodi was very dear to all who knew her, as I'm sure you already know that. Thank for all the hardwork you put in to her song. It is very beautiful. Once again thank you for everything!

I am a born and bred Ark City girl who now lives in South Carolina. I have found it incredibly difficult being away from home in this time of tragedy and have sought ways to be involved via the internet. Your song for Jodi was a wonderful tribute that myself and many others are extremely appreciative of. It's comforting to know that our small town values stay intact even when we venture into the big city life. God bless you!

I just wanted to say the song you wrote for Jodi is absolutely amazing! It was so perfect! For someone to do this for her means so much to everyone! And I agree with another post on here, for small town people to not forget where they came from, means a lot! What has happened has touched our entire community so much, then to turn on the radio and hear her song playing, I got goosebumps :)Jodi was very loved and this is just one more way we see how much!
Thank you!!

I agree with the other comments, and thank you also for making the song available so quickly. I think it could be a big hit, and I believe that would be very honoring to Jodi and to her family. Best of luck; I am going to follow your career. I'll always remember the Christ-like love you showed to this family and community.

Dave,
I want to thank you for writing such a wonderful song about someone so dear to me. Thank you so much for touching the people's hearts about Jodi's life and death with your words. Thank you so much also about being concerned and getting the word out about God's plan of salvation for us after watching Jodi's funeral. I had those same thoughts and concerns as well. I know that as Jodi's friends remember her and the friendship that she shared with them, that there was a light that was within Jodi. And the light that they could see from her life was of the Lord Jesus Christ. And I know that as Jodi looks on from Heaven, that she wants ALL of her friends to receive Jesus as their saviour and to live for him like she did. I know she is greatly concerned for all of them and her heart aches for them because of this. Jodi is a tremendous person and her life is greatly impacting this world. She is a true servant of God because she is such a good friend to God. I think that many many more songs need to be written about Jodi and I know that God will lay the material needed upon your heart to write those songs. I pray that God be with you. Thank you so much.

I grew up with Jodi and she was my best friend as a child and to loose her was the hardest thing for me to go through, not to mention that i had to work on her case, as i work at the ACPD. Hearing everything i had to hear adn seeing the things i had to will be in my memory forever and so will this beautiful song. Thank you for it! it was probably the best thing i got to hear during this whole ordeal.

The song is great. And when I listen to it tears come to my eyes. As I have 2 daughters that is 18 and 9 now. And it makes me think about them and what my life would be like without them. My prayers go out to the Sanderholm family. For everyone in Ark City, just think one day we will all be dancing with Jodi.
