I hope you had a great start to the Holiday Season.  I’ve been singing and listenin’ to Christmas music all weekend.  I love it!


Thank you so much for putting up with me all year.  I hope these songs connect with you.  My 6 yr old daughter Aly helps me out on a tune I think you’ll like.  I also recorded an acoustic version of my song God Send Angels which is on my record Fools Like Us.  I love that song and think it’s right for this time of year.  Also the song “I Believe In Santa Claus” is a song my dad wrote a few years ago and thought it would be fun for this group of songs.

I've Been Wanting To Say Thanks.

Hope your Thanksgiving holiday is a great one.

I've been wanting to say thanks to all of you guys for a great year and here's what I've come up with.

I am producing an acoustic Christmas EP!  Now the songs on the EP will be very simple.  Guitar vocals. No rock and roll here but if you're a Dave Parks fan I think it's something that could help you stay in the Christmas spirit.  I will have the songs posted for download by Sunday night!  Wish I could have it sooner.

Now I want to give these songs to my fans for free but I will have a "Donate" button if the spirit leads and my suggested donation will be $5. But again please download them guilt free and tell your friends to download them.

I will send out an email once the songs are ready for download.

You Could Be On CMT And Be In A Dave Parks Music Video!

Hey I hope this post finds you happy and healthy!

I’ve been asked by CMT to submit a video for the CMT madness video contest.

So I want YOU to be in my Fools Like Us video but I need your help!

Here’s my idea…

We all have pictures and videos of having fun with our friends and we love to look at them over the years. So I want Dave Parks fans to submit their favorite pictures and videos of themselves having fun with their friends! Being “Fools Like Us”

I will use an online resource Animoto.com to create awesome motion graphics. You can see a sample of what they can do at daveparksmusic.com and watch the Parks' go to the county fair! OK I know it's not the most exciting video but you'll get the point.

First off… Have you heard the song? Go to daveparksmusic.com and look for the "Play Now" button.
Well, have ya been fishin, skiing, huntin, bikin’, mountain climbin’, racin, tail gatin’, went some place really cool or even been to a Dave Parks concert? We're just looking for pictures that capture folks being “Fools Like Us”

Points to remember

You need to have more than one person or animal er thing er whatever in the picture... It's a friends havin' fun video!

Pics/vids …

• (Legal Notice) Need to be your pics or videos don’t send something that doesn’t belong to you.
• Need to be funny or great or spectacular!!!
• Don’t have to include yours truly even though I do have a positive affect on pictures.
• Posed pictures where everyone is looking at the camera probably won’t make it.
• Pictures that tell a story have a much better chance of making it.
• Videos need to be 10 seconds or less but if you can’t edit the video down that’s fine. Send it to me and let me know where the clip is.
• Names will not be used but remember a lot of people will see this on the CMT Madness web site.

So yep. You could appear in a Dave Parks video! CMT’s web site and potentially appear on CMT-TV! I think we could have a blast with this!

Relay For Life Fundraiser Went Great! & an Album Update

The show at Dickson Middle School for the Relay For Life Fundraiser went really well. Chase Foster was awesome as always. Check back in a year to keep us honest but I think this is the start of something really cool we can do every year to raise some money for the American Cancer Society.

Also wanted to let you know that progress on the album is slow right now due to the fact that finding the time to get in the studio is turning out to be a little more complicated than I expected. All that is left to do on the first 5 songs: Vocals on 2 songs, harmonies on all of the them and then the mixing process can begin. Once their mixed I'll start work on the 2nd 5 songs for the record.

Gonna have my band for a great show at Dickson Middle School for the Hallmark Heroes Team participating in the Relay For Life in Dickson, TN.

If you are not involved with Relay For Life in your community you should be! I have had several close friends battle cancer. This event is something I am very proud to be a small part of.
Below are a few words I found off of the RFL web site.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.

Wall Flowers In The Barn

Had a great time out in Centerville last night! This was my second time to play at The Barn. Phil and the boys have a great band. Everyone at The Barn was great but especially the ladies that call themselves the Wall Flowers. Actually Wild Flowers might be a better term cause these girls did not stop dancin' and if I wasn't on stage singin' they were askin' me to dance! They had a ton of energy and were fun to be around. John Rich and John Anderson Sit In With Dave Parks At Legends Corner!

This past Tuesday at Legends Corner had a surprising end to the show. John Rich and John Anderson showed up to hang out for a bit. John Rich got up and introduced John Anderson to let him sing two of his greatest hits. Seminole Wind and Just A Swingin'!!!

Got to talk with John Rich and James Stroud (Big Time Music Row Producer) while John Anderson was singing. Really fun!

This coming Tuesday we are going to have a video Director/Producer for the show so hopefully the quality and entertainment value of the show online will be higher! Be right here at 7pm every Tuesday!

A while back Chase Foster and I were hangin' out tradin' songs and he happened to have a little recorder with him so we recorded a little guitar/vocal of a song my Dad (Randy Parks) and I wrote called Whatever's Gonna Come. Chase put a cool little acoustic part on it. I love the song and hope to record it soon. It's just a "one take" live recording of Chase on guitar and me singin' but I thought you might like to hear the kinda stuff we are working on.

Last week we tried out the broadcast kinda at the last minute and it was a wild success so we can't wait to bring our style of country music straight to your computer! The video quality is not the greatest but we are working on that. The audio sounds great so we think you'll have a great time joining us!

I also wanted to mention something about social networking. Facebook… have you heard of it? I figure by now most people have. It is really taking over. It passed MySpace last month for unique hits and it is on track to pass Blogger (the service I use for my web site) and become the #1 web site in the world. If you don’t have a Facebook account you should get one. It is much more private than MySpace, pretty simple to manage and a lot of fun to connect with friends including your old friend Dave Parks!

Contest time again!
