Yes I'm Still Kickin' and Pickin'

Ah ha!

You thought I was done posting on this site didn't ya! Wrong!

This summer was a great success and my new day job is keeping me busier than I would like but hey we all do what we can to keep supper on the table!

First, I would like to thank my friend Tom Henning for acting like he missed my email updates/blog posts lately and wanted to hear from me. At least one person missed me.

Well I am still playing downtown Nashville and we get started around 6:45 every Tuesday night! I have met so many great people from so many different places across the globe! If you plan to come to Nashville please let me know and you should plan on being in town on a Tuesday night.

My good friend Chase Foster has moved to town and attending Belmont University. Of course he is playin' with me every Tuesday. Now I'm ready to write some songs with him... hope this happens real soon!

I have been very blessed to play with many great players throughout the summer and the band I get to perform with every week is absolutely amazing. It's not saying much but I am the least talented person on stage.

Got a new pic on my web page and myspace so check it out. Let me know what ya think. I'll have more pics for ya soon thanks to www.shauncloud.com

And thanks to Ted and Nanette for the live shots you see in this post.

A Note From South Africa!

Here's a note from some friends I met while playing at Legends Corner a few weeks ago!
Thanks Pieter, Sarie and Louise for believing!!!

Hi Dave,

Greetings from South Africa. We would also like to thank you for your songs at Legends corner, we enjoyed it tremendously. I listened to your cd this morning and enjoyed that as much, especially the last song.

Attached is a photo of our line dancers with you (On your left is Sarie and on your right is Louise). They are proudly showing it to all willing to look at it here at home. Hopefully we play a small part to make you famous as I am certain you will be one day.

Keep the songs coming and please stay in touch.

Our kind regards and blessings in the name of JESUS.

Fun Times at the Fun Barn!

We had a great time at the Fun Barn! It was awesome to see so many friends, my highschool choir teacher who was a tremendous influence on my singing career and even some old buddies from Manhattan came all the way down to Winfield for the show... Todd ... Your crazy!!! But thanks for coming down.

Dad got up and did several songs with us and it was great! Ben Russel (far right), my bass player, even played the flute with me on Deja Vu Rain... Very Cool! It was really fun to get to sing a Chase Foster song for the first time in a show and of course Chase did great as well.

And not to leave out Scott Williams (far left) on piano and Nick Hoffmeister (2nd from right) on drums who both did a great job. Can't wait to play with them again.

Thanks to everyone who came out and spent their hard earm money to see our show! We all hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Legends Corner 2nd Friday in a Row!

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better for the band, Renae Truex joined the band last night to jam with us downtown! If you don't know Renae, she is a member of the Country Group Cowboy Crush you should check out their MySpace and their new single Tougher Than a Man.

Also had the great fortune to have Jason Chance join us on guitar. Jason plays for the group Carolina Rain.

Of course not to leave anyone out, Will Mandel on the bass and Jerry Rowe on the drums were both awesome to have and can't wait to play with 'em again.

The folks down at Legends were once again a great crowd and we hope to be back soon.

Keepin' my head above water with the RNYC!

Thom Shepherd, Steve Williams and the whole Redneck Yacht Club were absolutely great down at Legends Corner yesterday. With everyone in town for the CMA Music Fest the party was definitely rockin'! And of course getting to jam with my good friend, electric guitar monster, Jason Jordan was really great!

Rockin' the Dock at Elm Hill Marina

Jill and everyone down at The Cove restaurant were absolutely great.

Last night I had the great thrill of playing with 4 great players Scott Joyce on keys (he owns a studio so if you need a tune recorded click on his name to learn more), Dave Spak on drums (who did absolutely great and was a blast to hang out with), Mike Loudermilk on guitar (killer picker and has the smoothest sound on guitar I've ever heard), and Mike Chapman on bass (had the smallest bass amp I've ever seen with the fattest sound). Growing up a Garth Brooks fan I have to tell you that Mike Chapman is the guy you hear playing bass on EVERY gb record.

So to say the least it was really fun gig to play. Hope to see everyone down there next time.

Good Times in SC KS

Yep another great weekend was had by all in Winfield and Suppesville.

Thanks to all who came out to help support Live Music in your communities. It was really exciting to see everyone and play with the amazing Chase Foster again.

All the folks workin’ at Biederman’s were very helpful except for the time someone unplugged our sound equipment . . . I guess it was our cue to start winding the show down. Don’t worry they plugged us right back in . . we had fun with it! Great crowd and what a cool venue. And really . . . the folks at Biederman's were great!

Suppesville Golf Course was also great and yes, myself and Mike D. won our highly competitive 9 hole 2 man scramble. It helps when your partner is the Super of the course! The show was great especially with my dad Randy, playin’ bass for Chase and I. He really did a great job . . . Although he says he couldn’t hear himself all night (typical Bass player complaint ;).

Don’t forget we’ll be back in the area at the Fun Barn in Winfield on July 12th. Hope everyone can make it.

We’ve just added a couple shows so check ‘em out at the bottom of this email to see if we are coming to your area!

Oh ya . . . Got hankerin’ to hear some dp tunes? Just click on the link at the top of this email.

Thanks again to all those that came out to help support what we’re trying to do.

If you haven't already please remember to click on "Update Contact Info" to let me know what town you live in to help us out. Have great week!

Rhonda Vincent Video Shoot

About a month ago I had the great opportunity to help my good friend Dallas Henry shoot a video for Rhonda Vincent. Next to my mother Rhonda is absolutely the best singer my ears have ever heard. Rhonda was awesome! And Dallas was. . . ok ok he was awesome too! He shot a very beautiful video that helps tell the story of the song so well. The video is finished and will be premeiring on CMT in just few days! I'll let ya know. Here are just a few pics from the shoot. You might remember a few of these folks from my video shoot.

April Shows and More!!!

Greetings!
It’s show time in Kansas.

Nashville friends skip to the 3rd paragraph!
Details to all shows at the bottom of this email.

Friday April 25 Chase Foster and I are going to have a very special performance at Biederman’s Bistro in Winfield KS. It’s a free show! Chase and I met just one year ago when he opened for my show in Oxford. Since then we have worked together many times in such places as Manhattan, Kansas City, Nashville and Oklahoma City. We are both excited about performing in South Central Kansas!

Now Saturday April 26th we will head on over to the Suppesville Golf Course. Michael and the crew are settin’ up for a big ‘ol party on the prairie! The club house is going to be a great venue to hang out with friends and listen to some fun music! We are all going to get together, grab our sticks and play a round er two at 2pm so be there! Can't wait to hang out! The show will have a $5 cover.

Now for my Nashville friends I will be at the Elm Hill Marina restaurant -The Cove THIS Friday April 18 at 7pm. This is a really cool venue right on the water… no really … it’s right out on the dock. Jill down at the Cove and everyone in the marina love to support live music so it’s going to be great! I will have my band there so we are going to Rock the Dock!

Haven’t spoke to ya since the Rhonda Vincent video shoot. (Pics from the shoot ) Had a blast and met a lot of great people. Once again Dallas Henry did a great job and look for this video to be on CMT later this month or in May. The song is called “I Gotta Start Somewhere.” A little reminder Dallas shot Craig Morgan’s "International Harvester" Video and it’s still going strong on CMT and GAC!

I have a lot of friends all over the US so if you haven’t already it would be great if you could tell ReverbNation (my fan email providers) what city you live in that would help me send more appropriate (and fewer) emails to you throughout the summer. You can click on Update Contact Info at the bottom of this email.

If you would like to help me promote my shows and help spread the word about my music please become a Street Team Member today (Update Contact Info)and help me promote my upcoming shows and post banners on your site. We plan on having prizes for our top Street Team members! I've already posted custom banners for my shows in KS. So join up, it’s going to be fun!

Please reply to this message or leave me a comment on MySpace or Facebook to let us know if you are coming to any or all of the shows or if you just have a question or just want to give me a hard time!

Last Minute Travels To Tunica, MS

Got a message Saturday that my friend Willie Mack needed some help with his show in Tunica. So I took a little road trip just south of Memphis and had a great time down on the delta of the Mississippi River. Got to play and sing with some great players and every one at the casino was great. Hope I can go back soon.
